Industrial Testing
Hearing Evaluation Services has three separate industrial testing options. We have a mobile test booth that can be taken into industries to do baseline and annual hearing testing. We also have a trailer that we can park outside of your business that is equipped with two test booths so that more than one employee can be tested at a time. For smaller businesses, employee’s can also come into either of our offices for testing.
The purpose of hearing conservation testing is to monitor hearing on a yearly basis to determine whether occupational noise exposure is having a detrimental effect on an employee’s hearing. An initial evaluation establishes the employee’s baseline hearing levels. Subsequent testing is performed to see if a shift in hearing has occurred. These results may indicate the need for a complete audiological evaluation. For further information please see Industrial Testing.
Hearing Conservation Program
This program is designed to help prevent hearing loss for those exposed to occupational noise or recreational noise. In addition to monitoring the hearing of employees, educational training as mandated by OSHA is also available. If you are exposed to high levels of noise, it is important that hearing protection devices are used and that hearing is monitored to ensure that hearing levels are not changing. Common sources of noise-induced hearing loss at work include loud machinery, power tools or driving trucks and other large vehicles. Noise exposure can occur outside of work as well; if you hunt, go to concerts or listen to loud music, your ears may be at risk! Specialized hearing protection that fits right into the ear canal is available for these special circumstances. For further information please see Industrial Testing.
